Last weekend was fabulous. I spent the weekend in the south part of the province in the Castle area getting some miles in on the road bike. The terrain for road and mountain biking down there is impressive. The foothills provide lots of rolling hills that are steep and long enough to put some hurt in the legs and blow out the lungs. Add in a bit of wind, and it does get windy there, and you can get in some awesome training.
The hills still have lots of snow. Even at lower elevations, the snow will still be an issue on North facing slopes and shady areas. If the weather forecast holds, we're in for some good temperatures in the coming week.
Travel locally seems to be limited to the low lying areas around Kananaskis. A report from Jewel Pass from a friend suggest there is still 2 feet of snow at elevations over 1200m.
Hopefully things start to dry out soon.
